Exodus 6:1-30 I WILL .
Intro: Chapter 6 is a continuation of the last part of chapter 5. The time for the plagues to descend upon Egypt is at hand.
THE gods IS ABOUT TO BEGIN
- What has led up to this moment?Pharaoh for permission to go out into the wilderness & sacrifice to the Lord
Ch. 5: 22 So Moses returned to the LORD and said, "Lord, why have You brought trouble on this people? Why is it You have sent me?
23 "For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in Your name, he has done evil to this people; neither have You delivered Your people at all."
The Lord responds in Ch. 6
6:1 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh. For with a strong hand he will let them go, and with a strong hand he will drive them out of his land."
v.2 And God spoke to Moses and said to him: "I am the LORD.
-- D.L. Moody We ought to see the face of God every morning before we see the face of man.
What is your ambition in life today? Is it to get rich? Is it to make a name for yourself? Is it even to do some wonderful thing for God? Listen to me, beloved. The highest desire that can possess any human heart is a longing to see God.
-- J. Vernon McGeeWhat I am anxious to see in Christian believers is a beautiful paradox. I want to see in them the joy of finding God while at the same time they are blessedly pursuing Him. I want to see in them the great joy of having God yet always wanting Him.

The Amazon River is the largest river in the world. The mouth of the River is 90 miles across. There is enough water to exceed the combined flow of the Yangtze, Mississippi, and Nile Rivers combined
So much water comes from the Amazon that they can detect its currents 200 miles out in the Atlantic Ocean.
One irony of ancient navigation is that sailors in ancient times died for lack of water--caught in windless waters of the South Atlantic. They were adrift, helpless, dying of thirst.
Sometimes other ships from South America who knew the area would come alongside and call out, "What is your problem?" And they would exclaim, "Can you spare us some water? Our sailors are dying of thirst!" And from the other ship would come the cry, "just lower your buckets. You are in the mouth of the mighty Amazon River."
The irony of ancient Israel and the tragedy around us today is that God, the fountain of living water, is right here and people don't recognize Him!

Jacob surely God is in this Place & I knew it Not
God wants us to see Him / Seeks to reveal Himself to us in the Word
B) Jesus described in John 17 Eternal Life is Knowing God -
C)I love this about the Lord In order to build our Faith He seeks to reveal Himself more Clear
He does that here w/ Moses :
3 "I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as God Almighty, but by My name LORD I was not known to them.
4 "I have also established My covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage, in which they were strangers.
Heb 1:1 God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, 2 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; 3 who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person,
Now the idea here when God said that He remembers is not Like Oh yea I forgot - but rather THE TIME IS NOW
C) God saying This is what I am going to do & Abe what do you need to do
Believe it & walk in itsay to the children of Israel: 'I am the LORD; I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, I will rescue you from their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments.
7 'I will take you as My people, and I will be your God. Then you shall know that I am the LORD your God who brings you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.
8 'And I will bring you into the land which I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; and I will give it to you as a heritage: I am the LORD.'"
Title I WILL .
1st Released from their Burden
- ; I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians,Psa. 32: 3 When I refused to confess my sin, I was weak and miserable, deep inside of me and I groaned all day long.
D)
But Once He dealt w/ it32:1 Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered.
2 Blessed is the man to whom the LORD does not impute iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no deceit.
A leading British humanist was interviewed on television. In a moment of surprising candor, she said, "What I envy most about you Christians is your forgiveness. I have nobody to forgive me."
-- John Stott,
"Freedom," Preaching TodayJohn 8: 32 "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." 36 "Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.
Saving grace makes a man as willing to leave his lusts as a slave is willing to leave his galley, or a prisoner his dungeon, or a thief his bolts, or a beggar his rags.
-- Thomas Brooks
2nd RESCUED FROM BONDAGE
- I will rescue you from their bondage,B)
Judges 16:21 Then the Philistines took him and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza. They bound him with bronze fetters, and he became a grinder in the prison.LIFE GUARD RESCUED STRONG CURRENT
C)Jesus saw us in that Place & came to the Rescue but in order to save us
He had to Redeem us
3rd REDEEMED US
- I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments. In September 1989, ten thousand East Germans fled to West Germany. Though they could look across the barbed wire and see West Germany, they had to flee first to Hungary and then through Austria to West Germany. It was a long and roundabout way to freedom.
The road to freedom from guilt and sin leads us by way of CALVARY
98:1 Oh, sing to the LORD a new song! For He has done marvelous things; His right hand and His holy arm have gained Him the victory.
2 The LORD has made known His salvation; His righteousness He has revealed in the sight of the nations.
4th v.7 Adopted us - 7
'I will take you as My people, and I will be your God.Rom. 8:
15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father."Gal.4: 4 But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law,
He stood at the window crying for help man passing by heard him & climbed the rain cutter pipe up to where the boy was pulled him to safety
In the Process of the rescue the Pipe was so hot that the man severely burned his hands
The boys parents were killed in the fire & there were no surviving relatives to take care of the boy so he was going to be put up for adoption
He was a fine boy several good people who were interested in adopting the boy - Minister / Lawyer / School teacher - / Judged decided to let the boy Decide - One other man expressed an interest Mechanic wasnt rich but he was a good man happened to be the man who rescued the boy
Boy asked to see the mens hands Picked the one w/ the scars
5th PROTECTION
: V.7 I will be your God.Romans 8
31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?
33 Who shall bring a charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies.
34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36 As it is written: "For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter."
6th DIRECTION
: 8 'And I will bring you into the land which I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob;Psa. 23:1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. 3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name's sake.
7th Provision
- I will give it to you as a heritage: I am the LORD.'"
Eph. 1: 11 In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will,
12 that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory.
13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,

2 Cor. 1: 20 For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.
We are Called Co- heirs w/ Christ - What a Blessing
Powerful Picture What God does for the Person who puts His faith in the finished work of Christ
Moses goes to the people v. 9
Spurgeon THE SADDEST OF THE SAD
So often take away my Bitterness - / my depression / My Anger
Consider when God seeking to lead these people into the land of Promise 12 spies 10 saw giants / 2 saw God
Listen Hebrews said : Ch. 3
7 Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says: "Today, if you will hear His voice,
8 Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, In the day of trial in the wilderness,
9 Where your fathers tested Me, tried Me, And saw My works forty years.
10 Therefore I was angry with that generation, And said, 'They always go astray in their heart, And they have not known My ways.'
11 So I swore in My wrath, 'They shall not enter My rest.'"
1) Consequently we miss out on the Fullness of God for our Lives
10 And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
11 "Go in, tell Pharaoh king of Egypt to let the children of Israel go out of his land."
12 And Moses spoke before the LORD, saying, "The children of Israel have not heeded me. How then shall Pharaoh heed me, for I am of uncircumcised lips?"
Here is a familiar conversation between a servant of the Lord and the Lord
A) Moses says: If MY people didn't listen, THEN Pharaoh won't listen
God said: That's fine Moses.... Just GO
B) Many times we do the same thing- We ask: HOW?
God simply says: NOW
C)We wonder HOW it will work and the Lord says: Don't worry about that,
just do it
1) Thought that originated w/ NIKE- God was way ahead of them
The very fact that God said it / includes the empowering to do it as we step out in faith & do it
B) We want power first- God says NO..... Obedience first, THEN the power

VERSES 28-30
This is about the 5th time that Moses raises the question of his inadequacy

For not witnessing
For not praying
For not serving
